Sustainable: About the Good Purpose Kitchen

We noticed many of our users were suffering from health issues associated with unhealthy eating. So we originally built our kitchen to turn this around and provide healthy and nutritious meals for our users.

We then saw an opportunity to extend our services, and suddenly our kitchen morphed into a state of the art commercial kitchen, with the latest hi-tech ovens, proofers and other commercial equipment. We then created kitchen roles for our users with disabilities, allowing them to learn new skills and earn a living from working in a live bakery and kitchen.

We now make and sell an assortment of delicious, high quality food items including breads, treats and meals, to many businesses, external functions and anyone who wants quality made food at reasonable prices. These proceeds help support more people with disabilities.

We are always looking for volunteers to help us deliver our Good Purpose Kitchen product. If this sounds like something you’d enjoy, you’ll need a current full New Zealand driver's license.

I would highly recommend the catering from Attainable . We wanted our Christmas lunch catered (for 200 people) and they came up with great menu suggestions at a very competitive price. They delivered all the food on time as requested and the lunch was delicious, all of our team enjoyed their lunch and dessert immensely. Particularly the mini lemon meringue pies and the chocolate brownie – yum! Try them for your self - you won’t be disappointed.
